Maddie’s Fund

We are so excited to announce that we are a Maddie’s Fund® grant recipient for our Providing Urgent Rescue Relief (PURR) Program! Our PURR program vets cats on death row to relieve the financial burden on rescues so they can afford to take these cats into their group for adoption. With this support, we will be able to assist several cats escape euthanasia and go on to find their forever homes.

Maddie’s Fund® is a family foundation created in 1994 by Workday® co-founder Dave Duffield and his wife, Cheryl, who have endowed the Foundation with more than $300 million. Since then, the Foundation has awarded more than $187.8 million in grants toward increased community lifesaving, shelter medicine education, and pet adoptions across the U.S. The Duffields named Maddie’s Fund after their Miniature Schnauzer Maddie, who always made them laugh and gave them much joy. Maddie was with Dave and Cheryl for ten years and continues to inspire them today.

Maddie’s Fund® is the fulfillment of a promise to an inspirational dog, investing its resources to create a no-kill nation where every dog and cat is guaranteed a healthy home or habitat. #ThanksToMaddie.

Give STL Day Is Here Again! Be sure to donate to MCCA on this biggest donation day of the year

It’s happening again! Give STL, a day of online giving, will be held on Thursday, May 11 and Midwest Community Cat Alliance will be participating. We appreciate your generous support of our mission to assist cats in our community.

Even though there were some issues with the technology vendor, last year over $2 million was raised for nonprofits in the St. Louis area. The St. Louis Community Foundation has partnered with a different vendor, CiviCore, to administer the donation collection this year. CiviCore has extensive experience managing events like Give STL.

Our goal this year is to raise $1,000 to help the cats in our community. Last year we assisted over 600 cats in a variety of ways. We funded vetting for several severely injured or ill felines, frequently spending $500 or more for each of these cats. We also fund TNR (trap-neuter-return) for feral cats to reduce breeding and nuisance behaviors. Our goal would allow us to fund 20 cats. Last year alone, we funded TNR for 35 cats, plus an additional 42 feral cats from animal control were vetted and placed in barns.

Like last year, there are prizes available! Pairs of Cardinals baseball tickets will be given away at the end of every hour, from the pool of donors that hour. You could win special Cardinals ticket four-packs (including batting practice and pregame) if you donate during the following hours:

10:00 a.m. – 10:59 a.m.
2:00 p.m. – 2:59 p.m.
8:00 p.m. – 8:59 p.m.

There will be 20-in-20 Lift times. During the times listed below, every donation will be matched (prorated), up to $20,000 during each period. You can maximize your impact to our organization if you donate during these times.

6:20 a.m. – 6:40 a.m.
9:20 a.m. – 9:40 a.m.
12:20 p.m. – 12:40 p.m.
3:20 p.m. – 3:40 p.m.
6:20 p.m. – 6:40 p.m.
11:20 p.m. – 11:40 p.m.
